NEW MOON IN LEO | MAGHĀ NAKSHATRA | August 23rd: 7:06am (BST)

This New Moon in Maghā nakshatra, in Leo, alongside the shadow node Ketu, draws us into the ancestral seat of sovereignty, the Throne.

Maghā connects us to the Pitṛs, the ancestral stream, and with Pitṛ Pakṣa, the fortnight of the divine ancestors, approaching on September 7th, the call to honour lineage, clear karmas, and reclaim inner authority deepens.

Ketu’s presence as the ruling planet of Maghā intensifies the spiritual dimension, creating the feeling of an inner ‘eclipse’ that pulls awareness beyond the worldly crown and toward liberation.

Just days later, on August 26th-27th, the Hindu festival of Ganesha Chaturthi arrives. Śrī Ganesha, remover of obstacles, is also linked with Ketu through the wisdom of detachment and the cutting away of illusion.

This is a powerful juncture for healing ancestral ties, clarifying purpose, and invoking divine guidance for the path ahead.
